Successful HAMILTON Ticket Fundraiser
(Winter 2022)
Thank you to all of the generous donors who participated in our HAMILTON ticket fundraiser.
The names of two lucky winners were drawn out of a hat and they will attend the Hamilton performance in Denver on March 19th, 2022.
Thanks to your tremendous support we have raised over 5,000 dollars in support of our scholarship program.
2022-23 Scholarships Awarded

In May, the BEP Board of Directors and Scholarship Team completed the process of collecting and reviewing applications for 2022-23 high school scholarships. We are pleased to congratulate the following students on their scholarship award: Marivert Aldana, Virianny Alvarado, Rosario Guerra, Ladmin Gutierrez, Amira Guzman, Marcie Macelli, Eliel Mallen, Julie Manzanero, Marcos Montero, Rianne Pop, Misael Portillo, Ervin Quinteros, Delrick Rash, Lizette Rhaburn, Tyreek Richards, and Mark Tut. Each of these students has been paired with a BEP sponsor who will support them with tuition support, communication and encouragement. We are excited to accompany these admirable students on their high school journey!
Congratulations 2022 BEP Graduates!

Eight BEP scholars successfully completed their four years of high school and graduated in May. These scholars persevered despite the impact Covid and spending two years learning remotely. This is no small feat considering that many students do not have access to the Internet and they learned through paper and pencil lessons hand-delivered to their homes by their teachers. Their family members also faced serious challenges during that time including illness and loss of employment and income.
We applaud these eight students and their families for this notable accomplishment: Tamar Alcoser, Kenia Barahona, Shevahn De La Rosa, Carlos Guerra, Amadia Leslie, Marlin Rodriguez, Kimberly Valerio and Lorenzo Majil.

HAMILTON Ticket Fundraiser
(March 19th, 2022)
Hamilton is returning to the Denver Center for Performing Arts on Saturday March 19th, 2022! One of our sponsors has graciously donated two tickets to this exceptionally popular play. The fundraiser has started - please see this flyer for the details.
A drawing will be held on February 27th. We are suggesting a $25 donation for each entry into the drawing.

Eden SDA High School Graduation

Eden SDA High School will be celebrating the graduating class of 2020 with a virtual ceremony on Sunday, June 7 at 3:00 pm MDT on their Facebook page - Eden Seventh-Day Adventist High School. Please tune in to show your support for these deserving students as they receive their hard-earned diplomas!
Pi Day celebration trip to Belize
(March 11th to March 14th, 2020)
Four BEP SCHOLARSHIP team members visited E.H.S., and four primary schools in celebration of Pi day.
We delivered 500 pounds of school supplies to the schools,
and played Pi Day games with the students. Many thanks to everyone who supported this effort!

Lion King fundraiser supports math education!
(March 4th, 2020)
Congratulations to Molly Kopczynski, Doctor of Physical Therapy, for winning the Lion King tickets.
We raised over $1,000! Proceeds supported the Mathematics Department of Eden High School during our visit in March.
Jean Kirshner, Ph.D. Honorary Scholarship
(December 20th, 2019)
Belize Education Project president Jean Kirshner received her Ph.D. in education from Colorado State University on December 20, 2019.
Her thesis is about her work in Belize over the past 12 years, and the challenges in going from “helping” to a true collaboration.
Through the Belize Education Project, a high school scholarship in her honor has been established for a
student who aspires to become a teacher to attend Eden High School in Santa Elena.
